When Rico's first opened its doors, coffee culture looked very different from today. Long before the major chains arrived in Peterborough, Rico's was already serving freshly brewed coffee and providing a welcoming place for people to meet, relax and enjoy good food in comfortable surroundings.
Throughout the years, generations of customers have made Rico's part of their daily routine. Some first visited as students or young professionals and still return today. Others discovered us while working in the city centre and have remained loyal customers ever since.
Our aim has always been simple: to provide a traditional coffee shop experience where customers receive personal service, generous portions and value for money. While trends come and go, we believe there will always be a place for a friendly independent café that puts its customers first.
Being an independent business allows us to focus on what matters most – creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, whether they're stopping in for a quick coffee, meeting friends, taking a break from work or enjoying a leisurely lunch.
